Position Title: Systems & Network Administrator Job 1274

Description
JOB PURPOSE: The Systems & Network Administrator is responsible for providing technical and administrative support for the company’s Network, Servers, Workstations, Voice Communications System, and related application software. The Systems & Network Administrator will install, maintain and repair servers, workstations, network connectivity and a variety of related peripheral equipment. The position is also responsible for ensuring security over access to systems and data, and that data is adequately protected and archived to ensure high availability of services.











Reports To: 1PRES (President)







Job responsibilities:







• Maintain CVM’s IT infrastructure, including installing, maintaining and troubleshooting all user and server hardware and software, workstations, routers, switches and peripheral equipment.



• Perform backup and recovery of user and server data, setting up and maintaining user access to email, shared file services, databases, specialized software, and all other server administration tasks.



• Perform upgrades and preventive maintenance procedures.



• Monitor system performance to minimize delays and avoid failures and bottlenecks.



• Install new software applications, workstations, printers, or other, coordinating assistance from third parties when necessary.



• Research pricing and gather bids on software and hardware needed by the company.



• Add and maintain users on the network, assigning application access and ensuring security, in accordance with established policies.



• Monitor and maintain firewalls, ensuring only authorized remote users have constant and secure access to server applications.



• Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.





Requirements
Technical Skills



Preferred Experience



• 2 years experience in Network Administration or computer support.



• MCSE certification desirable.



• SQL, Exchange, Sharepoint and K2 experience.



• Proficiency with IP networks using routers, firewalls, and switches.



• Exceptional problem solving abilities and project management skills. Ability to convey technical information in understandable terms.



Communication Skills



• Ability to relate to all levels of the organization in a respectful and friendly manner, with a focus on customer service.



• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of Company and client information.



Working Conditions & Physical Demands



• Flexibility in work schedule – occasional overtime or on-call availability may be required.



• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly, and up to 50 lbs occasionally.



Local travel is required. A valid NYS driver’s license and reliable vehicle are necessary











Required Education & Experience



Associates or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field. Bachelors preferred.







A minimum of two year’s experience.







Must be a citizen of or person admitted lawfully for permanent residence into the United States.



This is a DOD requirement for receiving technical information and distributing.





Shift(s): 8a.m.-5p.m.
